DENTAL MEMBERSHIP PLANS: THE FFS MODEL FOR TOMORROW

In a nationwide study taken just before the Covid shutdown of 2020 it was reported that 42% of people said they had not been to a dentist for any reason within the last 5 years. A staggering statistic if you think about it. Of those, over 80% reported that they did not have dental insurance coverage. Leading to a troubling patient mindset that exists: "I don't have dental insurance, therefore I can't go to the dentist unless it hurts or I'm in pain". Now take into account that less than 35% of the population has PPO insurance coverage and you can suddenly see this mindset is affecting the majority of the population.
